Common vehicles in Malaysia that use the M-42 EFB battery size include:
Perodua: Bezza (especially the Advanced and other models with Eco Idle), Myvi (with Eco Idle, particularly the 2018 onwards generations), Alza (new model with Eco Idle), Aruz, Axia.
Nissan: Serena S-Hybrid.
These cars require an EFB battery because the "start-stop" system places a much greater demand on the battery than a conventional car. A standard flooded battery would not be able to withstand the constant cycling and would fail prematurely.
It's important to note that the M-42 EFB battery is often cross-referenced with other codes like 60B20L. The "L" in this code indicates that the positive terminal is on the left side. Some retailers may also have an M-42R version for vehicles that require a right-hand positive terminal.When replacing your car battery, especially if your vehicle has a start-stop system, it is crucial to use an EFB or an AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) battery of the correct size and specifications.
